ISO 9001:2015 certified
Do you get certified because the customer demands it, or because you want to have your company better structured? Director Robert van Teeffelen was clear about this: because we want to continue improving ourselves and simply deliver good products. With this motivation, Lion Lasers received its ISO 9001:2015 certification on November 20, 2017.
Some people perceive ISO 9001 as a burden: additional paperwork, changes in processes, and an auditor breathing down their necks. In that case, you have misunderstood it. ISO 9001 is not meant to burden employees with more work, but rather to make work more efficient. By accurately documenting customer requirements and ensuring their implementation throughout the production process, you can prevent errors. And correcting errors takes time. That brings us directly to the goal of ISO 9001: By working more efficiently, time is saved, and the customer is better served. And that is what Lion Lasers aims to achieve.
In the first quarter of 2017, the quality management system was established in collaboration with Optimaal in bedrijf. The current practices were examined closely, and with a few improvements, the procedures were documented. With this, quality coordinator Ton was able to start internal audits and implement all improvement actions in the second quarter. Thanks to Ton’s hard work and the motivated employees who actively contribute to improvements, Lion Lasers was ready for the first audit in August. After the visit from the critical auditor from Lloyds, Lion Lasers was able to fine-tune some details, ensuring that the certification could be achieved during the second audit in November.
Thanks to the intrinsic motivation of the management and the passion for structure from the quality coordinator, Lion Lasers continues to strive for improvement. They aim to optimize their operations in order to build the best machines possible. This way, they can serve their customers even better.
