There is a continuous innovation in the manufacturing Industry. Slimmer solutions are being devised for difficult, dangerous or time consuming processes. We want to invest more and more in a future-proof business. Old techniques, such as chemical etching and mechanical engraving, are replaced by new techniques, such as laser engraving, because this results in a better and faster result. Processes are becoming increasingly automated because we want to work faster with a lower error rate. We see that growing demand for smarter, faster and more efficient production also more and more. And we translate that into automated engraving. An employee who occasionally puts a typeplate into the machine for engraving works fine. But when hundreds or thousands of records have to be provided with a serial number or logo, we do not want to lose time by open door, close door, search file, etc. The production can be automated, with increasing serial numbers, unique codes and static codes. This also provides a nice solution for example encoding product parts or personalizing products. In addition, the loading of the supply can also be automated. As a result, the employee no longer has to put the product on the tire, but a robot arm picks the product out of stock. How valuable people in production can be, an automated machine can speed up the process and prevent human errors.


But automation goes far beyond just automated transit with robotic arm. Smart manufacturing is not only the smart and efficient production, but also the preparation that precedes it. The customer wants to upload a drawing from his desk and start the production process with one click. E-mailing drawings or entering settings manually is out of date. Webshops for the manufacturing industry are already on hand. The customer enters his wishes into an online portal, the wishes are automatically converted into a work file. The working file with attached customer data is the start of the automatic production at the manufacturer. But we want to innovate even further. Because people want it even better and easier. The next step is the communication between the ERP system of the customer and the ERP system of the supplier. As soon as the customer’s system detects a product is not in stock, a signal for the purchase of the product will automatically be sent to the supplier.

However, we do not have to go through all standard automation. Lion Lasers finds it important to look closely with his customer what the best solution is. Does a robot arm or an employee provide the supply? Are the actions of the operator work-friendly? And who is going to maintain the machine? What kind of environment does the machine stand in?
